Dhammapada Verse 2
DhammaNanda Vihara is a peaceful sanctuary of Theravāda Buddhism, overlooking the scenic San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. Since 1980, it has been a spiritual home offering numerous Dhamma talks and Vipassanā insight meditation retreats, serving the Burmese community, the Vietnamese community, students and faculty from UC Berkeley and other universities, as well as Buddhist study groups and think tanks.

The Vihara continues to uphold the noble tradition taught by the late Venerable Sayadaw U Silananda, a devoted disciple of the renowned Mahasi Sayadaw.
Sayadaw U Silananda and his deciples teaching continue and extends not only throughout California, but also across the United States and beyond, reaching communities in Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, and other parts of the world.
